How to close tabs so that they stay closed when FF restarts?

Of the 20 tabs I have open in FF29 on win 7 5 are for YouTube sites. I close the tabs but when firefox re starts all the tabs, including the deleted ones, are still there and 5 simultaneous YouTubes are yelling at me simultaneously.

Why don't the closed tabs stay closed? Why to YouTube videos not wait for me to issue a PLAY command?

Many thanks,

               Dave

Did you set Firefox to start with previous tabs?

I presume that this means to use the currently open tabs when firefox is restarted. Yes, I made this setting. I close tabs so they are no longer among the current tabs and yet when FF 29 opens it includes the tabs that had been CLOSED. Dave
