Makes sense there should be a way to adjust the paragraph setting like you do in word processors. Becasue obviously the space beteen line one and 2 is not set at sincle, but mich less. Bottom part of the top line is shaved off, and second line is barely seen, sometimes not a all. But cant find anything in the firefox menu bar to adjust this. I know there is because it was adjusted this way on this particular computer a long while ago. Trying to find default for this but what am I not seeing.

Could you start by resetting the zoom level on the page? Hold down the Ctrl key and tap 0 (zero). To enlarge or reduce again, you can hold down the Ctrl key and tap + or - respectively.

Generally speaking, line spacing is governed by the style rules in the page, and you would not see the same problem on every site. If this is a problem on particular sites, could you give a couple addresses as examples?

Off the top of my head, I can think of one Firefox setting that might cause a problem on most sites, and that is the "Minimum font size" setting -- because it does not adjust line spacing. To adjust that, you can use this dialog:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content > "Advanced" button

At the top, there is a selector for the character set (e.g., Western). Make sure the Minimum font size is set to None or 9 for both Western and Other Languages, since those are the most common.

Does that make any difference?

Couple other things:

  • If the text overlays only after you scroll the page, this could indicate an incompatibility with your computer's graphics card. Try disabling Firefox's use of hardware acceleration here (this takes effect the next time you exit and start Firefox up again):
    • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available
