I'm running Gentoo Linux. When I try to watch YouTube videos, they are very slow at responding. When I click the video to pause it, it takes about 2-3 seconds for it to register. When I hover my cursor on the playback bar to get a little preview box pop-up, it takes even longer, sometimes even freeze the video. The video playback is also not very good, with hiccups every few seconds. I know that Adobe decided to end support for Flash on Linux at Flash Player 11 but it feels like I'm the only one with this problem. YouTube videos on Chromium seem to be fine.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
