I can't update past ff v51 because I still have HPs with ILO2 interfaces as well as a LOT of other not-new hardware that requires things like Java plugins.

Where is the options to turn on what you call insecure or unsafe settings so I can still administer my older hardware via web interfaces???

I'd love to be on the latest ff so things like huu work but I can't as my work needs come first which is using Java 1.6 web interfaces.

hi, if you're just depending on outdated technology for a handful of sites only, i'd recommend to install a portable version of firefox 52esr (still receiving security updates for a couple more months and supporting npapi plugins like java) and use the up-to-date release version of firefox for daily browsing...

That's just it, it's not a handful. It's all but one that needs napi Java. The ones that still need it is:

Hp ç7000 (I have 2) admin ui Hp virtual connect admin page Brocade hp blade switch admin pages Asus kgpe-d16 admin page Adic scalar 24 admin page And Cisco switch or router with ios 12. All 48 blades with ILO2 interfaces ... And ALL my internal lab sites use self-signed or generic certs until I can find time to learn how to use IDM/freeIPA as a CA and get that all working right.

My work actually IS 90+% of my total browser use.

So then I take it there is no plans for a backward compatibility mode? I'm on 51 right now and it works for every admin interface as well as Google, Linux admin sites, Gmail, etc. And sync for 51 is working fine too.

yeah, i'm afraid there will be no way back - other modern browsers like edge & chrome aren't supporting npapi-plugins anymore either and we committed years ago to dropping it: https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/ Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work?

sticking to 52esr is the best solution i can imagine here...
