Keyboard not working in firefox on ubuntu xorg

I have a brand new setup of ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS with Mozilla Firefox 131.0.3

If I log in to the normal version of ubuntu ( Wayland display server) , all is well.

If I log in to 'ubuntu on xorg' the keyboard does not work on firefox ( If type anywhere on firefox, nothing appears) . Works everywhere else.

I have tried launching firefox in safe mode, still no keyboard function. Also, if I turn on the accessible screen keyboard, that does not work with firefox either.

Any advice appreciated
