Firefox 3.6.13 will not let me add any extentions. Can you help me fix it?

I installed Firefox 4 beta and alot of my add ons were not compatible so I went back to Firefox 3.6.13. But my add ons were not there either. I went to the add on extensions in the tools menu and tried to uninstall the extensions that I wanted to put back on my firefox then I tried to reinstall them and got the message Firefox could not install the file at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/3456/addon-3456-latest.xpi?src=addondetail because: Unexpected installation error Review the Error Console log for more details. -203. I went to the Error Console log but couldn't make heads or tails of it. Please help me.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.
