The awesome bar doesn't recall ANY websites. (ex. Typing "goo" doesn't bring up google.com, nothing happens) Any ideas?

I am having trouble with the new Firefox remembering websites in the location bar. I can clearly see/know that I have been to these websites in recent history, many even are bookmarked. Lets say I have a tab open with gmail.com (and can see my email, so I'm logged in and it is in history/bookmarks) If I open a new tab, type gmail, nothing happens. It doesn't suggest anything, doesn't remember anything. If i press return, it sends me to google search with search results for "gmail". I am using Xmarks, that is the only thing I have happening outside the normal parameters of Firefox. Before on 3.6, I could type "gm" and it would recall "gmail.com"... currently, I can only physically travel to a bookmark and click on it. which is annoying because I don't need/want to bookmark EVERY site I visit. Oh additionally, I can't tell if this is related or not, I cannot go BACK on any page. my back button (and in the menu bar) is greyed out. Keystroke doesn't work either for that. SO frustrating.

Maybe the SQLite DB is locked or damaged, deleting and letting firefox rebuild it will resolve the problem as in my case.

Please follow this instructions:
