Firefox contintues to crash when trying to download a file. Any help? ideas?

more options

Whether running in safemode with everything disabled or running in normal mode, firefox will crash every time I try to download a file (once I click "save"). Every time. Doesn't matter the file type or web address.

I do not receive a crash ID either which is strange.

I'm running a Windows 7, 64-bit OS on the latest version of firefox (7.0.1). Any help? Ideas?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
