Why did my calendar clear when I installed the beta and why can I not add events?

I downloaded and installed the latest beta version of Thunderbird and when I did, my entire calendar of events and appointments disappeared and I cannot add anything to the calendar.

I do not like this beta version and want to restore the previous version that worked just fine.

Every version of Thunderbird has a matching version of Lightning. The calendar is blank because you did not upgrade Lightning when you loaded the beta Thunderbird.

The Lightning versions are here. Get the two software's to match and your events will load back up.

After much frustration and playing around, I fell on the right combo to make it work. It took a number of different things, including updating the lightning addon.
