I am currently dealing with important legal matters and my emails in Thunderbird, disappear after I transfer them to allocated folders. The folder indicates the total number of emails the folder contains but only show 1 or 2 out of 9 The solicitor has received what I sent but I am not able to view them again in the folders. 2 of the emails I sent were very large files of photos but the one I sent today was just short and contained only text - the same thing happened again and it disappeared. Is there any way I can make them re-appear?

Hello - Some years ago I had old Emails recovered by the support team which were indeed fully deleted in all folders of T'bird. They directed me to the online version to achieve the recovery and it worked well. I am need again and cannot locate those instructions. To be clear, the procedure was from the support team guiding the way. Anyone have possession of these instructions or algorithm, or a better method that still works? Many thanks :)

This only works if I forward "as attachment" otherwise the body of the email is empty without any attachment. It only happens with PEC (Certified Email) emails, while with "normal" emails everything is fine. >> In the menu bar Select Tools-Options-Composition-General option is set to Inline.
Has anything changed? Anyone have this problem? I've really tried them all!

Using POP account. Can get Thunderbird to hold all information. But when it tries to login to server says it cannot. This started 2 days ago. Also email from another different account ( IMAP) is painfully slow. Thunderbird says it is fully updated. Thunderbird often goes into not responding spinning wheel.
server is mail.(server).com pop puts it at 995 port, email carrier (Spectrum) says should be SSL on but choices are only TLS/SSL or STARTTLS what to use, also should password be used.

Hi there, since the update to 128.6.0esr a few days ago, Thunderbird no longer retrieves all email accounts. In one of the accounts, if I want to download the mails, nothing at all happens.
It no longer even reports in the status bar at the bottom left that it is currently downloading mails. Another account from the same domain, however, can still be downloaded, and shows the retrieval status. As can other accounts.
Even stranger, I can send emails from this account. But I can no longer receive them, even though there are new mails available.
I haven't made any changes in the settings, and neither has my provider. I have tried the troubleshooting mode, but I still can't download my mails.
What else can I do? Can you help me?

Have other computer running W10 Tbird using POP3. New laptop W11, I had mistakenly set up Tbird as IMAP. Didn't notice it for months until I needed to clean trash on email provider server. Then noticed all my trash on the W11 Tbird disappeared. I'm messy & like trash so want to keep it on my computers. How can I change the W11 machine from IMAP to POP3 without losing anything? Another question, is there any way to combine the sent emails from the different computers?

I was also unable to receive emails for a day or two but that has now corrected itself
Have used Thunderbird for many years and would like to continue but this problem makes it impossible
I would like to donate but don't want to when this problem exists as it makes it un-useable

My workaround is to type a period (.) in the search bar and Filter messages by: Sender. Since every sender's email address contains a period in it, I'm able to see the entirety of the inbox contents again.
Still, it's a pain in the butt!

I added Gmail account to Thunderbird on my Desktop and the number of emails is different on thunderbird and on Gmail. On Gmail there are 5666 emails in the Inbox but on Thunderbird the Inbox shows 10319. Is there a way to configure to display the emails as they are displayed on gmail? I'm moving the emails from one account to another and I don't want the client to be shocked when he sees 10319 instead of 5666. the discrepancy is too big.

I am experiencing a symptom sometimes when I delete a message in the Thunderbord email client (in any folder), all messages disappearing from all accounts in the entire Thunderbird including Inbox, Drafts, Trash, Sent and everything else. All folders become empty. The messages are not deleted, just not showing. Using the Trash icon of Thunderbird or pressing the delete key are the same. There is no way to display the messages again except to close and re-open Thunderbird. After that, everything return to normal. This does not always happen, about 75% of time. Thunderbird version is 128.6.0esr (64-bit), Windows 11 but the same also happened on previous versions and Windows 10.

Like the title says, I am getting some emails that move from Unified Inbox to an IMAP subfolder of account X, but remain visible in the UNIFIED Inbox.
First uploaded image shows 3 IMAP accounts as they appear in Thunderbird, second uploaded image shows how subfolders appear in IMAP account X (the third account in Thunderbird).
Mail is properly arriving in the 3rd account and shows up in both IMAP and Unified Inboxes, but only sometimes (and not with specific senders) can be moved into the 3rd account subfolder.
They are correctly removed from the IMAP Inbox but remain visible in the UNIFIED inbox and are found when I search in the UNIFIED inbox but not in the IMAP Inbox.
The messages persist in the UNIFIED Inbox through multiple restarts of Thunderbird and my PC, and some email continues to arrive in the 3rd account and cam be moved as expected, then another arrives that cannot be removed.
Strangely, if I delete the mail from the UNIFIED inbox, it is deleted both there and in the subfolder, so it appears something is making the display of the UNIFIED inbox keep a link to the new location of the email.
Bleah!
Any body see anything similar? I read several older threads about move problems, but this seems different.
