The topic could be settings either if I have not used a setting that I should have. If I delete an email on my PC it does not delete on my phone. However If I delete an email on my phone it also deletes from my PC. I really need this the other way round because I am more likely to tidy up my phone and deal with emails later on my PC. I am only at the beginning of learning to use the features of Thunderbird so any basic help that you can offer would be much appreciated. I set up a filter for a newsletter that comes very often so that I can delete it in blocks when it becomes out of date. I set up a new folder for it in my inbox. This is working well and the new folder and contents appear on my phone and Kindle. However my plan was to be able to read and delete emails from this folder on my PC with the expectation that they would then be deleted from my phone and Kindle. However they are still there. I am sure that there must be a box somewhere that I have failed to tick or untick and so if you could point me in the right direction then I should be most grateful. Thank you Patricia

For quite a while now, almost a year, when I delete an email, it deletes more emails than the one I was deleting. Why is this happening? They are going from my inbox to my Trash folder. Sometimes I loose an important email without realizing it. This happens on both of my computers, my desktop and my laptop. How do I fix this? Hope you can help and Thank you. Mark D.

The new Android version of Thunderbird can't properly send emails to a Gmail address. The emails are blocked by mailchannel.com as having spam content. My host (a2hosting.com) indicates it is a problem with how the email is constructed. This is not a problem for the desktop edition.

My inbox is showing as 96% full but there are only a couple of emails in it. It's acting like I have never deleted them even though I have & do. Yesterday it said 92% full. Sometimes the folders below it, sent, junk, deleted etc show as 96% full also, other times they don't. I have compacted the folders but each day it just gets more full. Please, how can I fix this issue? And please be specific, I'm not overly computer literate. Thank you. Jo

However, my address book is no longer available, except for about a half dozen addresses used very recently. I had probably around 100 email addresses gathered over the years. I use the Thunderbird client on my Win 10 desktop for my Gmail emails. I also have the gmail mailbox on my iphone and ipad using the 'Mail' App (not the Gmail app)

If I receive mails into the Thunderbird mailbox on the Win 10 desktop, I often move them to the correct Private Folder. But, when I do this they stay in the inbox on my ipad like 'read messages'. It worked previously and I don't know what has changed. Any ideas?

I use Thunderbird. Whenever I create a new folder in the email account I have set up in Quaker Meetings Network (QMN), url https://quaker.app, it is appears as a sub-folder of Inbox, but I want it to be a folder at the top level of the email account. I can do this with the other email accounts I administer with Thunderbird, in gmail.com and phonecoop.coop. Why can't I do this with a QMN email account? QMN say this is an issue with Thunderbird -- they are able to create "top level" folders on other email software such as Outlook

Last little while (2 to 3 weeks), when I am getting Calendar (and most other) notifications, they come up as a full size (same size as Thunderbird) screen, rather than a small dialogue box. (See attachment) This is REALLY annoying!! How can I fix this?? Thanks.

When will TB (or K-9) for ANDROID be able to connect with Hostgator email (IMAP preferably)? I follow the settings for manual set-up that Hostgator provides, and they do NOT work on either of your Android apps. They do work for TB on my desktops (Windows and Linux). And I can use K-9 for other email providers (one of which requiring manual settings set-up too)

It's a known issue on the internet already from my researching.

I called Hostgator, and they said it's a problem on the app side (Mozilla). (Then hung up on me. Smooth.)

Please advise if there's some special setting required. Thx.
