I am receiving emails with no problem but my outgoing emails wont send.

I get the error. "Login to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com failed".

All the settings for the outgoing server are correct.

There have been lots of complaints like yours this past few days. I am guessing Yahoo is having problems. Well more problems than normal.

Do they know about it and is it only a Yahoo/Thunderbird problem or are other POP3 users having similar problems?

Historically when the forum lights up with "I cannot connect to xxx provider" it is a provider problem. Thunderbird does not just decide to break for a given provider.

Does Yahoo know about it? I do not use Yahoo. Maybe you should call them and ask.
