I have Firefox on 3 devices: 2 computers and 1 phone. Firefox is not syncing my data across the 2 computers. I've signed out of all my devices and back in again and only the 1 (home computer) is experiencing this issue.

My history and bookmarks are not syncing, however, as a test, I changed the display name and that updated across all devices.

I'm not sure what's going on but I would like assistance resolving this issue.

This is really frustrating. So I have been using ff sync for 20 years and have never seen anything like this. I sign into ff sync and it appears to work, but then my browser does not actually start syncing. I try again and again. Same thing. I even tried to sign in on my android phone. Same thing! It signs in to accounts.firefox.com just fine. Otherwise I 'd not be able to be logged into this forum... But my browser is not signing into sync.

What the heck is going on?

I started up Firefox on my Windows 11 machine and everything is gone, open tabs, bookmarks, history, passwords. The app as acting like a fresh install. It was working fine in my previous session a week ago prior. That was also the last time I started up my laptop.

Is there a way to get Firefox back to the way it was? Or at least get my information back?

I would like to delete this question as I was able to solve the problem with the information provided on this page which was very good. I had tried to follow the directions but had failed to complete one of the processes satisfactorily due to an oversight (I didn't select correctly), and I restored the bookmarks to the latest backup, which was with them missing, rather than to the previous backup, which was the complete list. I also have been unable to find how to delete this question.

After a recent cookie and unwanted stored browser data clean-up by my antivirus, Total AV (it was one of those pop-ups that recommended that you cleared out your accumilated browser junk, and it would not delete anything important), but since it was completed, I have discovered that when I click on a saved bookmark, the site selected does not open in my browser.

Hi, I'm trying to sign-in to my firefox account from a different device (mac) and after I synced my profile all I see is bookmarks from another browser and no previous firefox data. I'm at a different location and I don't have access to my main computer. I've tried all the possible suggestions and its not working, I'm how could it work if the backup if stored in a physical device which I dont have of. I thought the syncs were cloud based and can be accessed from anywhere and now I'm stuck. Also, on the connected device section, its not showing my main computer; only my current pc (mac) is visible with latest backup of today - 22 Sept, 2024. Are my bookmarks completely gone?

Is there any work around for this?

Thank you.

On other browsers, such as Opera and Brave, when watching a video, and then closing out of the browser, and later coming back to the video, it saves the timestamp at which you closed out the browser (or goes back around 10 seconds). On Firefox, this doesn't seem to be the case. Is this intentional? Can I enable this somehow?

(Btw, I know that there is an extension for this specifically for YouTube, but I'm referring to other streaming sites, and just videos in general)

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hello,

I have signed in to Firefox on both my new and current profiles (Thinkpad using Windows 10). I created a new profile to fix a problem so I want to copy everything from the profile I use to the new one, which I will use from now on.

I am signed in on both profiles, I see my Bookmarks and passwords, but I don't see open Firefox windows and tabs on the new profile.

What needs to be done to duplicate it exactly on the new computer profile?

With appreciation,

Mark

PS. Firefox is my default and I love Thunderbird more than any web email or client. So I donate monthly.

I had to buy a new pc because my old one died suddenly and after logging into my firefox account on the new one it won't sync my old data from my account so I can't access my bookmarks. Everything shows up one my phone and sync is turned off on it. I can't find a way to export the bookmarks from the phone and I'm afraid to turn sync back on because I'm worried it will just erase all of my data to match the new pc. How can I export the data from my phone or ensure that sync won't delete it all?

My computer died. Luckily I had all my Firefox passwords, favourites etc synced with my account. I got my wife's old computer, fired up and logged into Firefox expecting it to sync all of the data from my account onto this new computer, but, it seems to have now backed up all the data from my wife's computer and overwritten mine. Is there any way I can recover all of my original stuff please?
