No matter how many times I clear "everything" from history, I still see firefox suggestions on the new tab page from websites I visited months ago. This is really annoying and could be embarrassing if you were on certain sites. I will NEVER understand why the default is to hang on to old data.....when it should be the opposite; users should choose to retain ONLY the history they choose to. I have CLEAR HISTORY when firefox closes checked....this is BROKEN please fix it

Hi everyone, I love Firefox, but it has a very debilitating issue whereby login popup windows, those little ones you click on to login, do not come up at all on some sites.
I have a screenshot below for https://www.avsim.com from MS Edge, where the popup does work. It also works on Google Chrome. But after clicking on sign in, nothing happens at all in Firefox.
Popups are enabled, cookies are enabled and safe browsing is totally disabled in Firefox settings. I have also disabled my ad blocker, AdGuard, on this site.
Can someone tell me what settings may need to be fixed in Firefox, or is this another issue?
Thanks.
how can i turn off the suggestions for the selected text? ss is attached. plz reply.

I'm taking nightly incremental backups of /home for example to my home storage server and, I guess, due to the databases Firefox uses for various storage, those can't be backed up by just copying them, if Firefox is running and has the database open.
What are the best practices, then, for ensuring all profile data, including these databases, is in a state where it can be backed up, while Firefox is running, in a way it can be restored to a fully functioning profile?
For example, with MySQL databases, you can dump the log before running the backup each night, which basically exports the SQL statements needed so you can skip backing up the actual binary database file (like ibdata1). Does SQLite need something similar? and is this the only special consideration that is needed, or are there other specialized types of data within our profile directories that can't be backed up by simply copying the data while Firefox is running?
Thanks

Hi,
The newest Firefox has an issue with properly parsing the javascript links in the ACS research journal articles. In these research articles, citations are clickable numbers in parenthesis. Clicking on them leads to a pop-up frame that gives detailed reference article information.
However, with the latest version of Firefox these citation links will only respond properly to the first click ever on the page. After you close the pop-up frame, any subsequent clicks on any of these links will have no response.
I attach an example article below. This bug has been repeated under Trouble Shoot Mode and I do not encounter the same issue with Chrome brower. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jacsau.2c00048

Hello community,
I couldn't find any information in google regarding my issue. I'm Polish and I'm using polish keyboard layout so when pressing ALT and a letter i get polish signs: ąłźć etc. But sometimes, only in firefox, CTRL starts to behaving strange, I can't use any shortcuts (CTRL+T, CTRL+C, CTRL+A etc) because CTRL starts to working like ALT and I get polish letters instead of selecting all text. ALT is still working like intended.
I don't know what triggers this and what makes it go away (it's not permament). When I started typing this it started to working correctly but it will return in some time. Im using 132.0 on Windows 11.

Greetings, I'm curious as to why, when working with passwords for websites and such, every time I click on one of the password entries I have saved in Firefox, which are many, when I back out it goes all the way back to the top instead of going back to where I was in the list like it should? Or at least like all others do... Also there is no date for when the entries were created like other browsers also have. In fact there's no other information at all nor is there a link to the site that the passwords are for. I find this very primative compared to other browsers.
I'm trying to clean things up in there as far as getting rid of old or duplicate entries because I've had a hard time logging into websites that I normally use because of the confusion with some of the entries. It seems like the old information is just bumped when I update passwords and this also seems like an issue that needs attention.
I don't experience these issues with either Chrome, Edge, or DDG however they are not quite ready to become my default browser as I've been using Firefox for a very long time compared to those ones and I have most of my saved info for all the sites I use with FF and trying to get any of the others up to where I am with FF would take a lot of work even with an automated import to one of the others.
On top of that I'm just more comfortable using FF because of how long I have been. I have some other issues I may have also posted about but it seems that my lack of fluffiness doesn't sit well with the fluffers who seem to respond with comments about how I word things and how much info I include, which is only meant to help someone who actually wants to help rather than critique my post structure and content and I don't understand why they even feel compelled to comment other than to be somewhat offensive with the intent to make it seem as though my posts are offensive.
In any sort of real world environment my posts would be totally acceptable and would get answers that were actually answers to my questions rather than rhetoric. If this one becomes more of the same with what I've just said, then possibly it will be time to do what I have to on order to become more familiar with a different browser and make it my default.
I hope this will not be the case however I feel that I don't get proper support out of the communities and the actual Mozilla FF support seems to have vanished in lieu of this highly opinionated and subjectively oriented group of users, most of which have nothing to do with the development of the browser. I guess we will see...
