When I open an email that is in reply to my email or is part of a chain of emails, thunderbird has recently taken to opening them all with separate tags. I then have to close each tab when finished. I don't what them chained at all.

Thanks for your help.

This happens when you have threaded view and all threads are collapsed, and you open the top message of a thread. If you select View/Threads/Expand All Threads, opening a message will open just that message. If you don't want threaded view at all, View/Sort by/Unthreaded.

Thanks for your reply, Your solution worked perfectly! For some reason it didn't work first time so I rebooted and all is fine. Thanks for everything. I'm not sure if threads need to be closed but this one can be. Regards Spyder.
