I recently changed my password to a passphrase. Thunderbird 115.16 ER Linux could not/would not handle it. By changing to a password based on the passphrase, Thunderbird sometimes works fine.

I had to change my Microsoft password and I believe it didn't change for my TB email account. I no longer know the old password (I use Keeper to make pw changes). I get a pop3 account password error and no longer can get email in TB. I am currently unhappily using Outlook. I made changes on my pc to meet the new requirements mandated by Microsoft: incoming server - pop3.live.com:995; SSL/TLS; 0Auth2 and outgoing server - smtp.office365.com:587; STARTTLS; 0Auth2. Appreciate some help. Thanks

I just re-installed the latest version of Thunderbird for email handling. (Ver 128.4.3) It is used by myself and my wife on our desk top. When she logs into her account and tries Thunderbird, it works just fine. When I'm logged into my account and open up Thunderbird Email, it asks for my password. Here's where things get cloudy. I enter current password but the program does not recognize it. I have gone out to Microsoft hotmail and changed it... and Thunderbird might work for a day, two days or only hours, than when I go to check my email again, it does not recognize my password. I check my email on my phone, and a Google tablet, so every-time I change the password on my desktop computer, I have to go out to these other devices and change them also, sometimes for just hours. For years Thunderbird worked fine on my computer, and on my "side" of the login, but in the last couple of months it has started this "password" problem. Could I have something on my computer in my settings that is causing this, and not causing this when my wife uses Thunderbird under her account. I love the program, but am now looking at other programs to handle my email unless I can get this fixed. I could use "Windows Explorer" if suggested to delete a file off my computer to "Fix" this. Ongoing problem with Thunderbird. No option/dialogue box.

It's been a week now and Thunderbird still isn't working 100%. I managed to install one of my email accounts ( Talktalk ) with no issues but it still not working properly. I can't ad my Hotmail email and all my log in details are correct. The problem is I never get the dialogue box which gives you options all I get is a small white box with a cross and that's it ! I just don't get a choice to do anything and I think this is why I can't install my Hotmail email account. The options box may be asking for an 0Auth2 code but I can't see it so I'm assuming there is an issue with the Thunderbird app ! I have a Chromebook and have installed Thunderbird about 25 times using Linux but always end up with the same problem ! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Got a pop up saying to enter a password on my email. Nothing worked. Log story short - contacted Comcast (my carrier) and they had me delete my email from Thunderbird and try to "add an exsiting email account" -access is always denied. Can someone please help. Thank you

I recently changed Internet providers and thus my email address. My old email address under Shaw was matthew2523@shaw.ca . My new email address is matthew4246@telus.net . Also, with Telus I was able to establish Thunderbird on this computer through Google gmail which Telus uses for its email program.

However, when I installed Thunderbird on my other computer it was still connected with the Shaw system and therefore, I could not get into Thunderbird to make the necessary changes that I did with this computer. And so, I don't know what to do to solve this problem.

Do you have any ideas?

Passwords lost in Thunderbird

I've been having this problem for probably about a year now. I have 9 accounts (5 Pop3 and 4 IMAP), and the passwords are stored by Thunderbird. I click the send/recie… (прочетете още)

I've been having this problem for probably about a year now. I have 9 accounts (5 Pop3 and 4 IMAP), and the passwords are stored by Thunderbird. I click the send/recieve button and everything downloads...until it doesn't. I go the settings/ saved passwords and what was a long list is very short...it has the MS oauth stuff for outlook.com emails and nothing else.

Over time I've found a relatively easy workaround. if I click the offline button in the lower corner, eventually it will prompt me for all the missing passwords and I'll be ok. But I have to exit and re-enter Thunderbird for that to work. If I do it in the instance after a download failure...it just hangs.

I use Firefox, and I noticed it happened one time after a Firefox update and I thought that might be an issue, but that didn't happen on the next update. There is nothing overt or obvious with my computer that would explain it...no dropped connections or errors...

I will note that I generally keep the computer and Thunderbird updated...but not necessarily immediately after the latest update is released. Thunderbird is at 128.4.2esr now. Windows 11, 1 yr old computer.

I do he the Thunderbird data on a NAS accessed over a LAN. I've been doing that for a long time with no issues.

No other changes on my end see to be the issue. Any ideas?
