an email keeps being sent to me over and over

I received a legitimate email from a friend. Now it keeps being sent to me over and over again. At least a hundred times a day. I tag it as spam, but this is from a personal friend and not really spam. How do I stop it?

Thunderbird downloads what is in your inbox on your providers server. If the message is truly being sent several times and is in the Inbox it gets downloaded. What happens more often is a message has problems and even though it is only sent once it never completely downloads and the next time it tries again. Go you your providers web mail page and log into your account. Delete the problem message.
