when I reopen firefox4, it doesn't remember my open tabs (just has 1 blank one), gets rid of my bookmarks toolbar, and has two Title bars. when i enable the menu bar, all options are greyed out.

I updated to Firefox 4 today, and was generally pleased - until I restarted firefox4, it didn't remember my open tabs (just has 1 blank one), gets rid of my bookmarks toolbar, and has two Title bars.

when i enable the menu bar, all options are greyed out. but when i disable it again, the bookmarks come back and the 2nd title bar goes away. the whole thing is weird and annoying. here's a picture to help visualize: screencap

thanks for any advice

Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the browsing history.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
