Firefox 9 is default browser. With yahoo as home page, if I load a news item I get nginx error 404. When I switch to IE (which I seldom use) using yahoo homepage the news items are different and they load correctly.

Back at firefox 9, when I get the 404 error, the address in the navigation window will display as news.yahoo.com/xxxx. I change the news. to gma. and voila, it works!

I use microsoft security essentials and ccleaner weekly. I ran Superantispy and ComboFix this AM to no avail. Plugins are weatherbug and bitdefender.

Hi,

Please check this in Safe Mode. You may also want to temporarily disable the BitDefender plugin.

Safemode didnt help. Went to control panel add/remove and removed yaqhoo update utility and other yahoo entries (left mail app). Problem cleared up.

Thanks
