Recently on line viewing panda webcams (thinking I was at zoo in California). Unfortunately, China and Japan both picked up during this viewing. I am no longer able to simply delete cookies - due to constant updates. I have attempted to delete them - following asst., information that is available. I am 82 years old - and not that savy with a lot of the computer instructions on line.

ANY suggestions and/or help - appreciated more than you know.

Hi Thunderbird Support Team,

I recently installed the latest version of Thunderbird in a Hyper-V virtual machine and encountered the following message: " Approval required Mozilla Thunderbird This app requires your admin's approval to: Read and write access to mailboxes via IMAP. Read and write access to mailboxes via POP.

Allows the app to have the same access to mailboxes as the signed-in user via POP protocol.

This is a permission requested to access your data in xx Send emails from mailboxes using SMTP AUTH. Maintain access to data you have given it access to View users' basic profile"

This was functioning with the previous version of Thunderbird, but now my IT team requires additional information about what the app is trying to do with our Office 365 environment. The approval process is crucial because some apps may introduce security risks or seek extensive access to our Office 365 resources.

Could you please provide more detailed information on the permissions requested and the specific changes in this version compared to previous versions? This will help in getting the necessary approval from our IT team.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards, Jenny

I have just reactivated a (duplicate) computer which I have only used 2 or3 times in the last year. I have been asked to re-input my Firefox password. Now it wants me to sync Firefox with my (android) phone.

For some reason, Firefox has not been installed on my phone, although other browsers that I have never previously heard of seem to have auto-installed themselves.

I have tried to download the "no fuss" version of Firefox, but it is asking for credit card details. Other browsers allowed me to skip this step, but Firefox will not allow me to proceed, and does not provide a "skip" facillity.

I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to allow my credit card details to be stored on my phone or in a browser. Storing the credit card data would not confer any advantage, because I have multiple credit cards, and I select the card for each transaction according to my location, the currency being billed, and whether the card offers cashback or loyalty points for the type of transaction I am making.

Has anybody else encountered this problem ?

When in private browsing, I am often asked to agree to website cookie policies before proceeding. What happens when I agree or disagree? Some sites make it easy to reject all, others don’t but what happens in Firefox if I agree in order to continue?

One of the add-in permissions is "Access your data for sites in the “named” domain". I looked at that and thought, "That certainly cannot include passwords"; BUT the explanation for this permission is: "The extension could read the content of web pages you visit in the specified domain, as well as data you enter into those web pages, such as usernames and passwords. "

I was stunned.

That means that addins that get this permission have access to my banking/medical/etc. usernames & passwords. This is not acceptable. Can a permission be developed that would be: "Access your data for sites in the “named” domain" (except usernames/passwords).

The permission "Access your data for all websites" is significantly worse in that it applies to all sites.

Ecrypted/Dig signature help needed across multiple Thunderbird installs

I think I need a walk-through with links to focus what I'm missing. Short version, I need TBird Android to backup/save private keys so I can take them and import them to TBird in my Kali Linux and Windows installs so everything uses the same keys.

Longer story: I'm finally digging in to Thunderbird (coming away from Outlook client) using GMail. I'm doing this because I am beginning to migrate away from Windows to Linux so I need something neutral and capable. As of today I'm not completely off Windows so I need to dual boot for a while. And as a bonus, TBird for Android was just released.

First, A month ago I got TBird running in both OS's. I wanted to set up digital signatures and encryption because I'm interested in security and.. why not. Under WIN TBird I started the key generation, but then it pushed me down a road to say I needed to purchase a service from a Cert Auth to use SMIME. Possible would be DigiCert for about $75/yr and I googled and found SSL.com is spoken well about for $14/yr or $20 for 2-yr. I haven't gone that far yet. First question.. do I NEED and S/MIME cert to encrypt and sign?

Now I've discovered TBird for Android was released. I got it going and in its e2e section it also allowed key generation and usage for encryption and signature. Now I'm second guessing the need for the cert. I did that there, published it to keys.openpgp.org, made it public And now I want to sync my new key-set between my 3 instances of TBird.

Next issue is that I cant seem to find where I can export/back up my private key from TBird Android. Next I will need to move it to my PC (securely.. not using one drive.. etc) so my 2 instances of TBird here can import it.

So like I opened up with, I think I (and maybe the community at large) needs a walk-through of the links to the steps to accomplish setting up encryption, and backing up/moving it over to other instances of ThunderBird.

(Wouldn't an account login for TBird be useful to sync settings the way Firefox does right about now?)

Thanks all. -Guy
