Unwanted websites like "adengine", "i-phone-cheat" and some other sites open up in a fresh tab automatically at regular time intervals and these sites further guide me to sites like "bigcountries","miley-cyrus" etc etc. I have tried resolving the issue by checking my computer for Malware, resetting firefox, clearing extensions, clearing cache, scanning for virus etc but the problem still persists. Please help me get rid of this issue permanently.

Hello Vasuki,

  1. check if you have some suspicious program in you Programs and features (in you win 8), and uninstall it.
  2. try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software, try all of them because each one detect different malware:

3. check IF you have in your profile folder a User.js file.

The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create and write in the file also).

any luck ?

thank you
