CPU usage 1-5% while idle, but jumps to 18-22% while typing an email or while scrolling the email messages or even if it is downloading emails. Words appear about 2-3 seconds delay when typing, which is really frustrating. I see that the version is noted as (60.6.1 (32-bit)) , but my system is Windows 10 Pro x64. Had only the Lightening Add-on, Tried with disabling the add-ons too but did not help. I don't have problem with any other application.

Do you have an anti virus? You mention getting mail and typing specifically and both use the system temp folder. A common location were delays can be significant as a result of anti virus activity.

Hi Matt, I don't have any external anti virus installed, I am using only the inbuilt windows defender/ security that comes with Windows 10. I only see the thunderbird utilising more cpu/mem and other process remains the same.
