After the Google outage earlier this month, I found I was not receiving my gmails in Thunderbird. Each time I ask it to get emails, it opens a dialog box - One Account - All of Google. Sign in with your Google Account. See attached screenshot.

There is a space for entering my gmail address, which I do. There is no other entry box. Just a button entitled Next. When I click the next box, I am still on the same page. All that has happened is that my email address that I have just entered has been removed.

I sought advice from the web, and discovered that my problems with accessing my gmail emails were to do with authentication; Google wants me to implement OaAuth. I have done all that is recommended to implement this i.e. remove the old password (I can't find anyway of removing the old OaAuth.) I have reset the SMPT settings and the server settings, closed Thnuderbird, and reopened. But the same problem just keeps on popping up. So I have removed the old gmail password, but cannot find a way to give this information again to Google. I cannot find a dialog box that asks me to enter the password.

I can get my gmail emails on Mail on the same device, also on the web. But I like Thunderbird, and want to be able to get my gmail emails on Thunderbird as well.

The only way I can get Thunderbird to access my gmail is to use a less secure method, which isn't really what this is all about.

I have a Mac - OS 10.14.6. Thunderbird is 78.6.0, which is apparently up to date.
