Problems with camera being "in use" after 2-3 Google Meet meetings

more options

When I use Google Meet, after 2-3 meetings, I can't join another one unless I restart Firefox completely. This has happened frequently.

Just now, I couldn't have my laptop unlock with facial recognition because the camera was "in use". There was no other use of the camera, than Google Meet run in Firefox.

I'd like some support for being able to fix this myself without restarting the browser, or, to submit this as a bug to get fixed in the software.

This sounds more like a incompatibility with google apps software when using google apps. My advise is to use Chrome when using google apps to better insure software compatibility so to avoid problems later on.

That tends to be problematic.

Firefox is my main browser, and for work during these calls I need several apps open. Having another browser, especially with how RAM hungry Chrome is, slows down my computer's response time significantly, and reduces my ability to be effective in these calls significantly.

It is a workaround, or more of a fallback option.

But I made the ticket so that this problem can get addressed so Firefox can be better overall.

Thank you!

I did look at these options, but didn't see anything out of place.

The only option that seemed to make progress was clearing cookies/cache - but that logged me out of all Google sites, which was a time-consuming thing to do when I was about to join a new meeting.
