I have the latest version of Thunderbird (64 bit, set to automatic update) on a Window 10 machine

I have lost a lot of emails due to Thunderbird problems (which I have detailed in another thread). The emails are still on my ISP server. How can I get Thunderbird to download them again? I download my emails by POP.

Sorry - forget this request. I have looked again and I already have all the emails that are on the server. It is earlier emails that are not on the server that I am missing. I have already asked on another thread for how to retrieve those from a backup I have made. However, other people may want to have this information, so please do share the guidance if available.
