This article describes how to use Google calendars together with Thunderbird. You can use Google calendars in two ways. You can either have read-only access to public calendars or you can use a bi-directional calendar, with both read and write-access.

= Read access =

Before you start the steps below, go to https://calendar.google.com/calendar/syncselect and select the calendars you want to synchronize.
== Add Calendars ==
To get read/write access to a calendar:
# Press {for mac,linux}{key Ctrl+3}{/for}{for win}{key Alt+3}{/for} to open the Calendar tab.
# On the bottom left, click {button New Calendar..} > {menu On the Network} > {button Next} and then enter your Google account address as username. This should start the Google sign-in flow.
