Hi, I've noticed that only a small percentage of the sites I pin to the New Page tab manage to load their favicons. Even well known sites like Google or Mozilla.org fail to load the image. So I tried to customize them with the "Custom Image URL" option, but they are not appearing either. They load at first when I hit "preview", but they fail to load once I press "save".

It seems the code is not even loading the appropriate resource, which—I think—should be placed in a 'style' attribute with a 'background-image:url()' CSS property, with the image path placed between the parentheses. I also checked the thumbnails folder (AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\nt5cyawc.default-release\thumbnails), and I found the image is properly saved there, so it's the browser who's not loading them for some reason.

First, many of the URLs from my many stored bookmarks mysteriously disappeared. Second, I went to the Library Import and Backup and hit Restore choosing the most recent File. That led to "UNABLE TO PROCESS THE BACKUP FILE" but also erased ALL my bookmarks! Have tried to restore using some of the other 15 files but always get the same failure message. Please help. Thanks

What should I do if, when sending a message to VK, when I press Enter it goes to the next line??

When I hover over the 'Send' button, the sending settings come up, but Enter is still selected - send a message, and Shift+Enter - line break. WHAT TO DO??? Previously, when I pressed Enter, everything worked, but now it jumps to a new line. I am writing to you in support because in other browsers everything works as it should.

I am using Multi-Account Containers, i have 3 pinned tabs all three are Gmail all three different. However when I restart my box and open Firefox again the pinned tabs show up BUT 3 new tabs appear asking me if i want to "Open this site in your assigned Container?". The pinned tabs are blank. If i click "Open in [container name] container" it will open in that new unpinned tab and not the pinned tab. This leads me to have to close my pinned tabs and re-pin each time. Please tell me I am doing something wrong and there is a way out of this madness!!!

When watching a video or a stream if i close the lid of my macbook the video is not paused and when i open it a few minutes/hours laters it will try to resume the video or stream but it's buggy since the macbook entered sleep mode when the lid is closed

How can i force Firefox to pause the video when the lid is closed ?

It's annoying to have a buggy video and sound when opening the macbook because i've closed it on an playing video or stream

On my new laptop I can not see the bookmark menu bar on the left side of the screen. Please help!!

Also, I have trued importing my bookmarks from an html file from my old laptop and that hasn't worked either.

Are there any plans to make configuration of the setting "network.proxy.system_wpad" available via ADMX (grouppolicy under Windows)? We need to deploy this to 100 computers ans I still have no idea how.

I am getting a "Click" sound effect when I click Menu Bar items in both Firefox and Thunderbird, Bookmarks in Firefox, Folders in Thunderbird and some other items in both. I can not find a way to turn it off. It does not happen in any other applications, including other web browsers that are forked from Firefox, so I think it is a Mozilla problem.

This is a relatively new installation that was set up copying settings from Firefox on Windows 10 using Firefox Sync. I did not copy anything from Windows Thunderbird because my email is IMAP which brings in everything from the server. I am not getting this clicking sound in Windows Firefox and Thunderbird.

I am GUESSING that the sound effect is due to an Accessibility setting that is buried somewhere, maybe in one of the text-based "about...." configuration files, but I don't know where to look. I have gone through the Linux KDE System Settings and the Settings in Firefox and Thunderbird several times trying to find it. I will note that I set up Firefox and Thunderbird in the same Linux distro on a laptop also using Firefox Sync and do not have this problem with the laptop. Can anyone tell me where to look to get rid of this irritating noise?

When browsing a website that uses persistent storage, Firefox pops up a prompt from the URL bar that says "Allow <site> to store data in persistent storage?"

How can I disable the prompt so it never pops up to ask me and automatically blocks everything?

I looked in settings and didn't find anything and didn't see anything in about:config that obviously controls this behaviour either.

Just hoping someone can help me figure out what else to try. I've only been using firefox a month or two recently, I'd been on Chrome for a while and now I'm a refugee. Anyway. Trying to figure out how to make my theme persist between sessions.

Each time I reload it's back to default. I'm able to disable and re-enable it in settings, and it applies just fine, but then is lost every time a new session starts. Not sure why this isn't toggling a flag to hold persistently. Any help is appreciated. J

How come i dont see my recent history in each new tab i open ???

I mean all the site i just visited already listed and showed on each new tab you open, this is so obvious i still dont understand how come it is not an automatic setting.

I take a lot of screenshots using Firefox's built in screenshot tool to share with my friends. After a while it slows down my Photos folder and I move them elsewhere. However, I cannot move, delete, or even rename any of the 18 photos shown in the photo below. They are all from Twitter/X, but this error does not apply to every screenshot from Twitter - I was able to move or delete most of them. However, it is ONLY happening with photos from Twitter. They are not Read Only so I don't know what the issue is. I'm not having this issue with Windows Snip tool, only Firefox Screenshots.

I have the following problem: when I open a downloaded firefox pdf file, a banner partly covers the text. I do not know how to remove the banner. See attached printscreen.

When downloading a file, if the filename has no extension, Firefox adds ".html" to the filename. I want it to leave the filename as-is, with no extension. It will leave the name intact if I surround it with quotation marks, but it didn't previously require this.

Firefox Settings relates to Firefox extensions, which is not this issue. And the list of Applications does not include names that don't have an extension.

Example of situation: An SSL Certificate site needs to confirm my ownership of a domain. I download a file from the issuing site. The file's name has no extension. Firefox adds ".html", which causes the file to be not found after uploading.

Firefox did not have this misbehavior before the most recent update.

I seem to have lost my pinned Bookmarks sidebar. I know I can use the CTRL+B key combo to get the bookmarks sidebar to show but I had it set-up such that I could close Firefox and later reopen it and the bookmark sidebar will still show upon reopening Firefox. Now, each time I open Firefox, I have to hit CTRL+B again for the Bookmarks sidebar to appear again. I can't seem to find the setting to keep the bookmarks sidebar to always show. Any ideas?

Question: What setting will allow mimimalized Firefox windows to visibly appear on my Macbook dock?

I have spent hours trying to figure out why all of my minimalized windows (with multiple tabs) seem to disappear into my Firefox icon instead of being visible on my Mac dock as they have for decades.

Running the latest Sequoia 15.1 and latest Firefox 132.02, in the last couple weeks, when I click the yellow "minimalize" button on the top left of my Firefox window, they disappear and are inaccessible. If I press Control + Tab, I can see the windows, but can not access them. I've tried endless attempts to correct this in my Mac system settings and in Firefox settings with no luck! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I currently use Firefox on Windows with a policies.json located in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution" to ensure some required settings like a proxy server or SSO-portal as home page are in place, so users unable to read a documentation can still use the system. Now I need a browser without proxy for some applications. Currently I use a portable FF, but that's twice the work for updates. While I could just add another profile to the system FF and add a Icon, it still would use the global policies, as such locking me from changing certain values.

Is there any command line argument to ignore policies for this one session, specify another one or change the policy-file to ignore certain profile names?
