After a PC failure I have a new PC with Linux Mint installed. I have a PCV backup of my older emails from 2015 (I have downloaded my more recent ones again from AOL and Gmail) and I have extracted these into a new directory. I can see the email directory and files that I need to install into my new Thunderbird setup - the "Inbox" is readable as text - but am not sure what I do with these. I want them stored as local.

What do I do?

As of today, I can't access attachments. Emails in the message list pane correctly show the paperclip icon but when I open the message, there is no attachment file name displayed. If I forward the message, the attachment appears and is forwarded correctly but if I click on the attachment name in the forwarding message pane, it disappears.

Note that this problem applies to all folders, including Personal folders and their subfolders, not just Inbox.

I am having PC stability problems and it may be that Thunderbird was caught in a freeze or crash. In any case, I really need a solution. Can you help?

I cannot add folders or sub-folders under the inbox in one of my 4 accounts I use with Thunderbird. Have I hit a limit? I need to file in a specific way for our book-keeper who shares one of the email accounts. I was happily adding the sub-folders when I realised the first ones added were disappearing, then it was refusing to allow me to add any new folders OR sub-folders.

Please help brains trust!

Using the latest version, Thunderbird 115.16.3 with Windows 7 64bit computer. I have turned off windows firewall to no avail. Able to read mails through webmail.

I'm trying to migrate from an old OS/2 and Thunderbird 38 system to a new Red Hat Linux and Thunderbird 128 system. I think I've copied all the server settings faithfully, but when I try to fetch mail, nothing happens. If I open the developer tools->error console, it says:

I have a valid x.509 certificate and am able to send S/MIME signed emails via Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit) [Windows 10.0.22631.4460).

The private key is stored on a Yubikey. However, the certifying authorities are in the Thunderbird Authorities.

I can send S/MIME signed emails.

Viewing the received email in Gmail (web) correctly shows that email is signed, verified by a known issuer, and provides links to the certificates.

Viewing the same received email in Thunderbird only shows the S/MIME badge/icon when the Yubikey is connected.

Is this intentional behavior? Why doesn't Thunderbird show the S/MIME badge?

I created two new email accounts (ex: info@newemail.com). I can sent from them just fine, but when I send TO them the emails are received in a separate set of folders under the name of that email address. How do I get those emails to appear in the Inbox under Local Folders instead of in the Inbox under info@newemail.com.

I've set its Copies & Folders to the same as my other email addresses where received emails do appear in the Inbox under Local Folders.

Since the last thunderbird update, my emails are NOT downloading properly. They download to my android, but they do not download to my PC what should I do 'Thank you.

Plus, I am unable to send email out from my android, but can send from my PC.

PS: my android is working with my gmail account.

I would like to find out why most of my incoming mail messages on my Thunderbird accounts are significantly delayed showing. I know there are incoming messages pending because they are on our cellphones way before they show in Thunderbird. Sometimes I have to close Thunderbird and then re-open it to get the incoming messages to showup.

I'm trying to set up Outlook in Thunderbird and I'm completely lost. I think I have the following problems

1) I can access my Outlook account on the Outlook platform, but I sign in using my @ymail address So strange as it may seem, I don't have or know my outlook email address to fill in

2) When I sign in to the Outlook platform, they send me an email to my @ymail address, and when I click on it, I get into my account. So strange as it may seem again alas, I don't know my Outlook password to fill in

I'll probably have other problems, but for now I'd like to know how to solve the 2 above problems. If you're wondering, I have read up about setting up Outlook in Thunderbird, but I can't find any answers to my questions.
