I received on 2024-09-25 about a dozen messages from various senders in my Thunderbird mailer from the University of Calgary mail system, around 2 p.m. and at least 50 emails in about a 12-hour period starting on Sept. 19 at about 2 a.m. that had recognizable sender names and subject lines as well as time and date stamps, but were either replaced by text from emails sent years earlier or corrupted (encoded?) in some way. For example, the email below was supposed to be from "Physics and Astronomy general announcements" on 2014-09-25, 2:15 p.m. but note the date in the header. This corruption of new emails is happening at irregular intervals, and I would very much like to know why and how to stop it from occurring. It seems to me that there is replacement of the contents of new emails with old, possibly compacted, email contents, if that makes any sense. Emails read on my account at the University of Calgary webmail system shows no such corruption, so it appears to be a problem on my Thundermail mailer. Look I like to use Thunderbird as opposed to a clunky Microsoft system, so

any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your attention.

When I move or copy an email from one Exchange account to another the content and attachments are wiped out. The header (date/subject/from/to etc) is all intact. It happens to most but not all emails. This started on 27-Sep-24.

I'm using TB release 128.3.0esr (64-bit) on Windows 10

I've tested the same action within Microsoft Outlook and it doesn't happen. Therefore it appears to be a problem with Thunderbird or OWL. I am in touch with OWL at the moment who suggest removing and reinstating the accounts. I have done this but it make no difference... the same thing happens.

I can move emails to an IMAP account and this is fine... so it's only happening between Exchange accounts.

Hello, I've been using thunderbird since 2013, and have never had as many issues as I have this year. I reinstalled Thunderbird (uninstalled with revo uninstaller so nothing stayed), and then installed the latest version fresh. This seemed to smooth out most of my issues, but I haven't been able to solve this one..

I use Thunderbird because I have multiple email accounts to monitor and like them all in one place. The latest problem that I am having is that my "sent" email is showing up as giberish (sometimes.. Not every email, and not always on the same account).

My system is Windows 11 Home 64-bit

I will attach a screen shot of: 1. My current version of Tbird 2. The email that displays in Tbird 3. The email that displays in Gmail

Thank you in advance! -Eric

Hi, When I get a new email, the sound plays (correctly) and a notification popup appears on my Windows 11 desktop. Unfortunately, the same notification appears over and over.

It seems like it won't go past that email until I read it. I'm expecting the popup to relate to the very latest email that is arriving.

In settings, I have checked Show an alert, Use the system notification, show a tray icon for unread messages. In customize, I have all 3 fields checked with a 4 second timeframe.

I am using 128.3.0esr (64 bit) with nebula

Can this be resolved? If so, please enlighten me.

Thanks in advance! Don Sceifers

There are about 16 attachments that appear following various folders when I start Thunderbird. I can delete each each individual folder and they appear in Trash. I delete them from trash. As long as I don't close thunderbird the attachments stay gone. When I close and restart Thunderbird, they reappear. Ir I don't delete them before closing, they reappear when I start Thunderbird again. In this case about 1/2 the folders can't be deleted. After several start, close, and delete sequences I'm back to the initial condition. The attached images show Startup with all the extra folders, then the cleanup process, and finally the extra folders in trash. Once in trash they can be deleted.

Hello,

I am running Thunderbird 128.3.0esr on Windows 11 as POP on gmail and having issues with junk mail. Items are being moved into the junk folder despite identifying them as not junk. I go into the junk folder, identify them as not junk, they move to inbox, and at some point Thunderbird moves them from inbox to junk. Nothing I do seems to prevent this from happening.

I decided to turn off junk detection. Attached are screen shots. However, the problem still occurs. Mail in my inbox move to junk without me doing anything.

Help!

Thanks, Art

I just run into a weird bug in version 102.9.1 (yes I still use this for a reason).

I have some Alias email addresses, that is, on my Linux mail server they get re-directed to my main email address. However, when I *reply* to such an email address, Thunderbird swaps the From and To (and Reply-to) addresses, and send the email back to myself, from the From address the person who send the email to me in the first place. This is really bad.

So it seems when the email address does not exist in Thunderbird itself (as it is a redirected Alias) Thunderbird gets completely confused and mixes everything up?

In this case, my actual email address is bk@bart.gen.nz The alias is bart2@bart.gen.nz

When I click 'reply' it sets to TO address to bart2@bart.gen.nz, instead of the Reply-To "info@sartrack.nz", and the FROM address to "info@sartrack.nz". How is that possible? See original incoming email below.

An identical email but directed to my actual email addres, and the Reply works normally.

both my wife and I use TB on each of our machines mine is Windows 10 hers Windows 11, It has been fine for a while, but her machine sometimes shows a blank email that is fine on mine, by highlighting the folder and right-clicking and selecting folder properties and selecting repair folder this has resolved her issue.

Now however she has blank emails again, when selecting folder properties nothing happens no dialogue window appears, from the edit drop-down menu you can normally select folder properties as well but that option is not even there.

when she does right-click she has options which are from other drop-down menus as though the whole menu system has become corrupted. is there a solution to this or do I need to reinstall, if I do how do I keep all of her current emails and archives which go back about 15 years?

both on version 128.3.0esr (32-bit)

Hi,

we found such an oddity. We use a PGP key linked to the mageo.cz domain (the key is for addresses <somebody>@mageo.cz). Recently, importing a key in Thunderbird takes a very long time (the search on the keyserver is unreasonably long (tens of seconds) both when the key exists and when it does not exist). It seems to be some kind of anomaly only for this domain. For other domains, searching/importing the key is fast. A direct inquiry (through the www interface of the Hagrid keyserver) is dealt with promptly. The problem concerns only the search for the key via Thunderbird and only the mageo.cz domain

I am a new user of Thunderbird. I have 4 email accounts. I am receiving multiple copies of emails both on my desktop and also on K-9 on my phone.

From reading the various entries on this support site I note this is a known problem. I have not found any posts that offer a solution.

Is there a solution? Do I need to run diagnostics to clarify my issue if so what diagnostics?

Thanks in advance.
