I know this has been asked once before, but was hoping someone came up with a solution. I know many people like tabs, but I'm not one them. Firefox use to open in things in a new window when the open links in tabs instead of new window when Open links in tabs instead of new windows was checked. Not anymore unfortunately. Is there no solution for FF to do this automatically?

Hello sonnyboy1,

If you want a link to open in a new window (not tab), all you have to do is press the Shift key on your keyboard and click on the link.

When you want your homepage to open in a new window :

Some internal pages will always open in a new tab. To have these in a new window and not in a tab, you would first have to open a window. If pages use JavaScript then they may still be able to open a new window. Also make sure you always force a new window.

See:

For links opened via JavaScript you can look at this pref:

I downloaded the FF add-on called 'No Tabs'. Works like a charm.
