Why does Firefox break up files that I download?

I found found that each time I download compressed files using Firefox, the Firefox breaks up the file into multiple files. After the download, I cannot decompress the files downloaded. Other browsers, like Internet Explorer and Safari do not have this issue. I have noticed this problem on both the Windows and Mac versions of Firefox.

It sounds like that the item is decompressing after you download it. Please check your about:permissions page for downloads. Are there multiple attachments that you are downloading at once? Reset Firefox preferences to troubleshoot and fix problems Also please clear the cache and cookies by clearing the history.

I hope this helps.
