After the automatic update, I lost My Documents.

After the update, I got "Your computer seems slow ...." I then re-installed FF and my favorite extensions. However, something didn't feel right, so I used several malware scanners; everything was OK.

Prior to all this, whenever I clicked on "Documents" in the Start menu, there would be a listing of "Most recent documents etc. etc,". Now I got only e few dozen lines of code and their installed dates. Clicking on them produced gibberish.

My machine is running Windows 7, using FF as the browser, the word processor is from Open Office and the search engine is Duckduckgo. The AV I use is Avast Free.

Before I try a Restore, has someone an idea as to what happened, or, should I just try a Restore?

Are you talking about something with Firefox, or the Windows Start button?

I did not know that FF had a start button,; I guess it is the Windows button- the one on the extreme left on the task bar at the very bottom.
