How do I know if the current upgrade is genuine?. Do not remember requesting this download. Had to reinstall this new update from scratch. Use Firefox to get to Google. My computer is up and running now. Could my upgrade be a fraud? Thanks BB

If you mean the minor update from Firefox 56.0 to Firefox 56.0.1, there is a real update and hopefully you installed the real one.

Could you explain in more detail what problems you're currently experiencing?

If you are concerned about potential malware, you could supplement your Norton software with some "on-demand" cleaners that should not conflict. Our support article lists several free ones that other Firefox users have found helpful: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware.
