Hello,

OS: Ubuntu 18.04.5 64-bit, all latest security updates installed. Browser: Firefox 82.0.2

Issue: after FF upgraded past 81, I started experiencing severe problems opening many sites, including Google drive/Google docs/etc resources.

Typical FF behavior: after a long delay I see an error page: site cannot be opened since its credibility can't be proved (original message is in Russian; it may sound differently in English).

According to what I found, that may be related to HSTS.

Workaround: I direct all the problem traffic via external proxy (FoxyProxy, using SSH tunnel-based SOCKS).

Note that when I open the above sites with Google Chrome, without any proxy, no problem happens.

How can I browse, with FF, the sites with the above issue without a proxy?

Usually the error page will show a code in ALL_CAPS. Sometimes you need to click an Advanced button to access that. Could you check whether it is listed in the following article with useful suggestions, or let us know what you get: How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites?

There's no "Advanced" button, just message that site cannot be open, since certificate cannot be verified.

Next time, when I see that happen, I can screenshot and attach (Russian) screen I see. When it happens, it is re-producible (reloading/clearing cache doesn't help).
