Thunderbird refuses to proceed with compacting when I've accessed one of my email accounts through Firefox, even though I've closed the browser. So I log out and back in, but then I get no prompt to proceed with compacting. Is there a way to force compacting? Thanks in advance.

I'm absolutely certain accessing message via web has no impact on how or whether compact is working properly on Thunderbird.

"Thunderbird refuses to proceed with compacting" is a description which unfortuantely details, such as exact workding or screen shot. With that information we can then provide assistance.
