Was running Firefox fine, then started getting some bugs, so deleted program and decided to start with fresh download. Download page says my OS is not compatible, but chart says it should be.

Yes, unfortunately Firefox 4 and later require the Intel processor architecture. The error message apparently doesn't distinguish between OS version and processor.

There is a project to make these recent versions of Firefox compatible with PPC. You can read about it here:

Thank you for your time in response. The G4 PowerPC had been running Firefox fine for years. Perhaps the automatic update from Mozilla screwed it up, as it started hanging and running erratically. Do you know of a location for archived previous versions of Firefox? Thanks again
