Firefox crashes on startup

Every time I try to start Mozilla firefox I get box stating Mozilla Crash Report. Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it starts. Every time I hit restart Firefox it just comes back with the same. I have this laptop and Firefox is working fine. I have gone into firefox help and done everything that is suggested to do to correct the problem. I am at a loss of what to do now. In the crash report under details it gives me BuildID: 20110928134238. I tryed it in safe mode and got the same crash report. I'm at wits end so hope you can help me. Ive been using Firefox for years and never had a problem.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website.
