My "Advanced" tab under options isn't available (won't click), how do I clear my cache?

One of my frequently viewed sites has updated, and said that some users (me) will have to clear their cache in order to view the site again. However, when clicking "Tools-Options" the Advanced tab isn't clickable. It's there, but won't allow me to click on it. HOW do I clear my cache??? I'm using Win7, and my FF is version 20.0

You can avoid clearing the entire cache by reloading the current page, overriding the cache. There are three ways to do this — pick one:

  • Press Ctrl + F5
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + R
  • Hold down the Shift key and press the Reload button on the right of the address bar.

To clear the cache,

  1. Press the Firefox button in the top left corner of the window.
  2. Place the mouse cursor over the History menu, but do not click that entry.
  3. From the History menu, click Clear Recent History.
  4. In the Clear Recent History window, select Time Range: Everything, then in the Details box uncheck every item except Cache.
  5. Click the Clear Now button.

As for the issue of your Options window not working properly, I suggest first starting Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is to blame.
