Upgraded to Thunderbird 45.0 from 38.7. Rebooted as required. Now EVERYTIME I try to start thunderbird, it tells me I have to reboot to complete the upgrade. Rebooted several times but that didn't help. Tried installing 45.0 again and it says I have to reboot first.

I was finally able to get Thunderbird working by doing:

1. Delete THUNDERBIRD.EXE.MOZ-UPGRADE file (in TBird folder) 2. Reboot 3. Re-Install the 45.0 upgrade.

All seems well now.

Have you tried uninstalling Thunderbird completely, restarting the computer and reinstalling the latest version from scratch? Make sure you make a safe backup copy of your Thunderbird profile folder before you do it.

Unable to uninstall Thunderbird because it says I need to restart first. Tried several times with the same result. Is there a registry flag that I can clear to get past the 'restart required' issue?
