I have been unable to connect to the Internet via Firefox for two days; I have tried on my PC and netbook. Is Firefox not working in our area? All I get is a message 'firefox is not responding'

Do other browsers work? If you just updated Firefox, it could be your firewall blocking Firefox.

Yes, my other browsers work. I will not disable my firewall while online-what would be the point of having it in the first place! LOL! I guess this just means no Firefox until a new update comes along. Thanks for your reply!

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Thanks for your reply! As it happens, AVG just upgraded and now I don't seem to have a problem with Firefox! I'm happy as I cannot abide Explorer and Chrome doesn't work with my plugins.
