I'm concerned that the updating process will not reinstall my Kaspersky internet security files when the updating is done. I have asked Kaspersky this same question but did not get a satisfactory answer. I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 on a Windows Vista OS.

Kaspersky isn't known for timely updates of their Firefox add-ons.

Sorry, but you try to put reality upside-down. Kaspersky, as other developers, is a company which relies on making profits. Firefox really sucks with its bi-weekly or so updates. Who do they think they are? How in the world can you demand of a company to keep track of Firefox's way-too-frequent updates which are the result of a nerdy and unorganized community?

I am, like a lot of other FF users I personally know, so close to change my standard browser because of this annoying dysfunctionality. People like you are a danger for projects such as Firefox!

Your behavior and thinking is not going to fly. Get real, dude!

Firefox won't uninstall any Kaspersky files during the update process, nor will it reinstall any that weren't there before the update process.

What Firefox will do is disable any Kaspersky extensions that aren't marked by Kaspersky as compatible with Firefox 25. and once Kaspersky fixes "their stuff" and your PC receives those updated files, those Firefox extensions will work again. Firefox checks compatibilty of extensions every time it is opened, so once your Kaspersky extensions are updated Firefox will automatically enable them on startup.

Kaspersky isn't known for timely updates of their Firefox add-ons. It's almost like the Kaspersky developers have trouble keeping track of the Firefox 6 week schedule for new version releases; or they wait until the last minute to test the compatibility of "their stuff" with Firefox.

The reality is that if Kaspersky, or any other security vendor, is going to add on to Firefox they need to follow Firefox lead with version updates every 6 weeks. If they aren't up to the task maybe they need to reconsider providing add-ons for Firefox. Firefox does work quite well, and maybe better, without those add-ons.

FYI. I've long had the problem of loosing my Kaspershy add-ons, but a funny thing happened when I was prompted to Install the new Firefox 26. I was busy at the time and declined and whattaya know, ALL my Kaspersky add-ons Popped up and working. So I'm staying with the 25.01 Firefox and decline the approx. twice a day prompts to add 26. I really like these add-ons, and now realize it was not Kaspersjy's problem
