According to Adobe I have the latest version of Acrobat install. But Firefox is insisting that Adobe Acrobat is out of date and keeps throwing up that stupid 'f'ing annoying plugin blocker. How the hell do I fix something that you've screwed up?

hello, adobe reader 10.1.6 is the latest version of the pdf plugin - prior versions are affected by security vulnerabilites. you can download the update from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5557

The why is the plug-in page directing to a download of 10.1.4? And if this really is the latest version, why, even when I go to adobe's site, do I still get directed to download 10.1.4?

version 10.1.6 was released on february 20, 2013. i don't know why adobe is redirecting you do an older version - you'd have to pose this question on their support channels...

The Adobe Reader version 10.1.6 is not available as a full version, but only as an update.
The latest full version of the Adobe Reader is 10.1.4, so you need to update.
