There is now an extra space underneath the address bar after i deleted "Most Visited" and "Getting Started". Is there any way to fix this? See the attached screenshot.

That is likely the empty Bookmarks Toolbar. You can hide this toolbar by right-clicking the "3-bar" Firefox menu button on the Navigation Toolbar or other free space on this toolbar (doesn't work on the Bookmarks Toolbar). You can also toggle this toolbar via the "Ctrl+Shift+B" keyboard shortcut in newer Firefox version (doesn't work in 78 ESR).
