Last night I was using Firefox normally when it abruptly closed all windows and turned off. I turned it back on again. It told me it could not restore the tabs, so I started a new session. Firefox behaved normally, went to the sites I asked, and in approximately two minutes, did the same thing. Simply closed as if I had closed it. Turn it back on. It says it cannot restore previous tabs. It will come on, go to requested site, operate normally for a very short time, then close without warning. Made sure I had the latest version of Firefox. I do. Have tried hard restart, turn computer off, turn it back on. Same. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. Behaves the same on reinstall. Says it cannot restore tabs. Start new session. Brief period of normal behavior, then all windows close as if turned off. Does not matter what the site is I go to.

Please note that I am an older autistic person who is very computer illiterate and is extremely distressed by these events. Please bear with me and please be patient with me.

There is no option to automatically update.

I have downloaded this zip file - firefox-130.0(1).tar.bz2

QUESTION - How do I instal the update  ? - or can I not with my system - as below

It seems like when ever I make a mistake signing in to facebook firefox lists that mistake as a sign in or it mines other emails from other activity. How can i get rid of all of the other user ids from my sign in? BTW I am not very savvy with computers

When I login to my Virgin Mobile Canada account (at https://www.virginplus.ca/myAccount/logon-smart.do), it displays the error:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. The URL for the error message starts with https://www.ges.bell.ca/siteminderagent/SmMakeCookie.ccc?SMSESSION=

After getting the error, when I got back to https://myaccount.virginplus.ca/, I find that I am logged in. Also, I do not get this error with Edge.

I am using a primary password. However the password is required when I open Firefox as well as for password protected websites I visit. Is there a way to not have to put in the primary password every time I open Firefox? I feel duplicate protection is unnecessary and time consuming.

Hi, I've started my laptop after 3 days, opened Firefox web browser and all my tabs are closed / lost. If I try History -> "Recently closed tabs or windows" is greyed out. How can I recover all my tabs from this computer?

i'm tired of overriding firefox settings so that i can access my servers and lab equipment, or run scenarios to point out why security is in place. some of the about:config overrides work sometimes, others they don't. then firefox updates and I hve to reset them or go through the whole proccess every time i spin up a new environment.

please tell me someone knows of an easily solution for this? is it a dev release of firefox? a different browser?

i tried installing old versions of firefox but they don't support modern stuff. how difficult is it to be able to, in the same way i can allocate permissions per website for things like location or camera access, for insecure tls or invalid certificates?

i know it's invalid and can't be verified. that's the point.

I use multiple dialing apps in my business. When I choose a specific app, it opens in the same window as my source data for the call. I have recently began using a new computer. In my previous computer the dialing app I chose opened in a new tab. Please help.

I have to sign-in to my computer this morning, which normally indicates a Microsoft update ran the previous night.

DuckDuckGo, Chrome, and Edge all seem to be able to pull up website; not so for Firefox.

I redownloaded Firefox - no change. I deleted Firefox, ran CCleaner, and downloaded the software again - no luck.

I cleaned my registry of its orphan files - no luck.

I turned off my VPN - no luck.

So I am forced to use another browser until I can get this fixed.

Suggestions?

I upgraded to Windows 11 on a new machine a few days ago. Had to re-install all my software from scratch.

I just discovered I can’t create subfolders. Not sure long the problem has existed (I don’t create subfolders very often).

I tried creating a subfolder on several different top level folders, on multiple accounts (Hotmail & Gmail). The "name new folder" dialog never appeared. No error message appeared, either.

Windows Task Manager shows 2% CPU usage, and 21% memory in use.

    I have always used my Firefox browser to access my bank accounts, one being my private account and the other for my company account.  I noticed however last week that I could not log in to my company account but I had no problem logging in to my private account.  I contacted the bank ( Handelsbank in Sweden) who were surprised but said that this problem may occasionally arise with the Firefox browser.  (However it has never happened before to me over the last 10 years!)  Is this a temporary gliche or do I have to switch to another browser ? !
