Linux OS. I have been using Thunderbird as interface for gmail account for years. INBOX has about 15 subfolders where I store/save emails, moving them from INBOX. I cannot see anything but the INBOX, which looks normal, and the default drafts and trash folders. On my Windows laptop, all is well and I can see the subfolders. I have tried a number of things, including the "repair folder" function, but no joy.

Below are examples of the files Thunderbird apparently cannot open, claiming it cannot open "pg4iqwv0.default" This problem is new -- these files have not changed, and have been in use for years.

/home/rdn/.thunderbird/pg4iqwv0.default/ImapMail/imap.princeton.edu/egg /home/rdn/.thunderbird/pg4iqwv0.default/ImapMail/imap.princeton.edu/egg.msf /home/rdn/.thunderbird/pg4iqwv0.default/ImapMail/imap.princeton.edu/misc /home/rdn/.thunderbird/pg4iqwv0.default/ImapMail/imap.princeton.edu/misc.msf

Please post a screenshot of the error. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

What are you doing when you get the error?

If upon starting Thunderbird, how exactly do you start Thunderbird?

What Linux distribution? Are you using the vanilla version of Thunderbird from mozilla.com, or the one provided by your distribution?

Please post a screenshot of the error. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem What are you doing when you get the error? Just opening Thunderbird in the usual fashion, using the standard icon I have been using for years. If upon starting Thunderbird, how exactly do you start Thunderbird? As noted, using the normal icon. However, while troubleshooting I tried starting from command line, with the same result -- INBOX but no subfolders. What Linux distribution? Centos, an EOL version 5, which worked flawlessly until a couple of days ago. Are you using the vanilla version of Thunderbird from mozilla.com, or the one provided by your distribution? I installed it so long ago I don't remember, but it probably was the distribution version (yum) originally, maybe updated by downloading newer version, but not sure about that.

Thanks, but the system is not running now, so I can't provide the screenshot, etc. Please consider it solved.
