The (Download>save file as )function is completely F'ed up. Upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 today. That included an updated firefox. Now when I download and save a file as function when I enter either a letter or number to rename the file the Search window pops up with options, or no options, that are available in the directory I'm saving to. The key or mouse focus is now in the Search box and not in the renaming the file box. That means in order to rename a file you have to switch back to the 'renaming the file' box fro the 'Search' box every time you enter a letter or number. Totally F'd up.

You can check for issues with "xdg-desktop-portal" and possibly install some packages.

  • sudo apt install xdg-desktop-portal xdg-desktop-portal-gtk

Whether to use gtk portal for the file picker. 0:never 1:always 2:auto (true for flatpak or GTK_USE_PORTAL=1, false otherwise)
