Example- I do a search and get a list of web sites, I select one which is a pdf document. After closing that pdf a blank page appears instead of returning to the original page of search results. Can I set up Firefox to automatically return to the original page?

Thank you

Is the PDF opening outside of Firefox in Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, or another external application? Usually Firefox closes the blank window or tab immediately in that case. However, I have noticed that if the link was launched using the Ctrl or Shift key, or middle mouse button, then Firefox might leave it open. Have you noticed a pattern along these lines?

Are you using the Back button to return to the original window or did you open the PDF file in a new tab and close this tab?
