bonjour à tous;
je travaille avec quantum 60.0.2 (64 bits) ; win7;

how to recover some of its brands deleted pages.
Hello everyone;
I work with quantum 60.0.2 (64 bits); win7;
PROBLEM: I have 5000 Bookmark Pages When I was 4800 MP a few days ago I deleted a sub / under / sub / folder that contained a hundred. I have in Json format of the saved. automatic total of M.P. prior to this inadvertent deletion. I can not import it because I do not want to crush my 5000 by only 4800 M.P.
THE 2 SOLUTIONS I thought of:
1) Complicated: So I thought to create a second profile and import the sauv. containing the deleted folder. Will it be possible on a single computer? (or more, if necessary) to open both profiles simultaneously and copy one by one the links to rebuild my deleted folder within the current 5000 M.P.
2 °) Simpler: Save 5000 M.P. (in order to use them during operation.) Import MES 4800 with the deleted folder. Delete on this computer. all the MP except the file I miss. Create a Sauv. M.P. in HTML format. Import my resc. performed starting from 5000M.P. current. Import as HTML the saved. the only file (initially deleted) made above. It will be added in the "Menu Marks Pages" 3 °) Save 5000 M.P. (in order to use them during operation.) Import MES 4800 with the deleted folder. Do you see an easier way to proceed?
I do not understand that quantum does not integrate a function comparable to importing saves. from another browser that would import MP into a folder we would choose.
I indicate my solutions to help those who search with a tool in French and find nothing like me before.
Thank you in advance for your help. (if there is better than my second proposal)

HI, I do not know what you mean by MP. It is best to export and import as HTML rather than json as can then export from other browsers and import.
Firefox version 61 released today, Help --> About to update. Then read What's New.
As to what you are asking I am unclear. Someone else will have a look.
(MP = marque pages)
Firefox keeps backups of the bookmarks in the bookmarkbackups folder, so you can consider to restore an older backup.
- Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore
The name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once. You also see this count in the Restore menu drop-down list, so you can look for a backup with the correct bookmarks count.
- bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.
You will lose bookmarks that were added after this date, so you may have to make a note of them or create an HTML backup of the current bookmarks. You can open this file in a Firefox tabs and re-add the bookmarks if is aren't that much.
Hello Pkshadow and thank you for your answer;
M.P. as answered then co-rel is the abbreviation for "Bookmark" (Bookmarks in English) I did not choose the Json format. Firefox makes me automatic daily backups in json. I make it in html but I have not seen where we can change the format of the automatic backup. someone would know?
Hello Co-rel and thank you very much for your detailed response;
For the hundred or so bookmarks that I miss my solution number two seems more suitable. It joins your principles but is more automatic, and should simply move the saved file to HTML.
Can you confirm me co-rel that when we import an HTML backup it does not replace the current page brands but is added to the page marks folder? Because it seems that because of my short writings and automatic translation you did not understand me perfectly.
Thank you Co-rel and Pkshadow
Hi, welcome. So much to know and try and retain it all. I will PM cor-el to have another look some time later this date when is around as we are all Volunteers. Hard to say.
Not if not got these bookmarked :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
The above is to HTML
Bonsoir, you would think I would remember some from high school, West Coast BC we only get kids travelling.
Importing an HTML backup will merge the bookmarks in the backup with the existing bookmarks, so you should lose any. Yes, editing an HTML back and only leave the header and the full folder structure including the root folder (e.g. Bookmarks Menu or Bookmarks Toolbar) can be a better solution, but editing can be tricky if this is about nested folders not to break the HTML formatting (<DT> <DL>).
You can't change the format of the automatically created HTML backups, but you can Firefox make create an HTML backup each time you close Firefo. A JSON backup is created when you start Firefox and only when there is a change to the bookmarks hash that is part of the file name.
