Firefox mobile not redirecting to other apps?

Is there a way to have Firefox mobile redirect to a different app?

For example: When i want to pay for something in the Aliexpress app it opens a link in a browser, in this case Chrome, where i get to choose which bank i use to pay with. When i do that, Chrome automatically redirects and opens my banking app so i can pay with that. But when i choose the Firefox browser and then my bank, it does not redirect and open my bank app but just opens the bank website.

Is there a way to change this so it does open the proper app instead of the website?

I hope this can get solved unlike my other problem where after just a few suggestions, it just got abandoned...

If you opened the link in Firefox, an Android icon will appear to the right of the address bar at the top. Click on it to open the link in the corresponding app.

Perfect, Never realized the android icon. Thanks a bunch

Hi --

I see the Android icon, but I'm hoping that Firefox can one day recognize that - there IS a mobile app installed - I probably would prefer to use the app instead of Firefox - redirect to the app

For example, there is NEVER a time when I'd rather watch YouTube videos in Firefox than the app installed on my Android phone. Same with Reddit -- I would ALWAYS prefer to use the app -- mostly because I'm already signed in to those apps, while I'm usually not in Firefox, so I get stuck at a login page. Not great UX.

But if I ever click on a link to one of those sites from within Firefox, I have no choice but to view it in the browser.

My Samsung G7 had an area in the Settings that let me enter certain sites like "*.amazon.com" that would automatically redirect to open the app instead of the browser.

I'd really like to see Firefox for Android take this next step forward to smooth out the handoff between Firefox and the rest of the Android experience.
