Can't copy email address from Search Results

more options

Hello,

I want to be able to highlight/copy an email address from the 'Results for:.. ' header at the top of the Search Results page in Thunderbird 115 (see attached screenshot).

When I use the Search Bar, Thunderbird recognises the email address as being used previously, but does not bring up any results. It used to be possible to highlight/copy the email address from the 'Results for:.. ' header in previous versions of Thunderbird. I would much prefer to be able to do this save time and ensure that I have the email address correct - otherwise I need to type it out manually which is frustrating and can lead to errors.

I hope you can help!

Best wishes,

Ellie

If it is in your address book Thunderbird will show it in a list as you type in the address. What you are showing is a no results found for the email address. It does not mean it has been used before. It just means this is your search criteria and no result were found.

When you send an email to a new address, Thunderbird adds the address to your collected address book by default. So typing part of the address and selecting from the offered list is a surer way of getting the address correct than what you are doing now.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to reply. Perhaps I did not communicate my problem clearly enough. This is not an issue with the address book - it's an issue with not being able to highlight and copy the text as shown in the image - in this case "Results for: involving k****p******@gmail.com" on the Search Results page.

In previous versions of Thunderbird, I could copy/paste email addresses from Search Results easily. Now it will not let me do this - i.e. the text is unhighlightable in Thunderbird 115. I hope someone can help resolve this in the next version of Thunderbird as it's been a big loss of functionality for me.

Many thanks, Ellie

Hello, I'm wondering if there's any plans to resolve this issue? I need the email address shown in the Search Results to be selectable text that I can copy & paste. i.e. where it says 'Results for: ellie****@gmail.com' (see screenshot attached) You used to be able to select and copy the email address showing in the Results in previous versions of Thunderbird - it now no longer works, which is a massive loss of functionality for me.

I am a loyal Thunderbird user - please can someone help bring this functionality back in future versions?

Many thanks, Ellie
